The Israeli air force and artillery struck several localities in the Nabatieh district, southern Lebanon, on the night from Thursday to Friday. The attacks resulted in the death of 15 people, according to Lebanese press cited by Reuters.
The Israeli army stated that these operations were directed against members and infrastructure of Hezbollah, in response to multiple violations of the ceasefire by the militant group. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also reported losses, with four soldiers killed, including a tank battalion commander.
The escalation of tensions comes against the backdrop of the signing of a framework agreement between the USA and Iran, aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East, which includes the cessation of fighting in Lebanon.
However, Israel intends to maintain troops about 10 kilometers inside Lebanese territory to continue operations against Hezbollah.
