The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a warning to the Bulgarian authorities on Tuesday, urging them not to allow the United States to use Bulgarian territory for military operations against Iran, warning that this would turn Bulgaria into a "partner of the aggressors".

The ministry's spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, emphasized that any activity facilitating American attacks is equivalent to complicity in "aggression and war crimes".

The Bulgarian government announced its intention to seek parliamentary approval for the stationing of up to eight American tanker aircraft at Bezmer Air Base. Bulgaria's President, Iliana Iotova, stated that the presence of these aircraft and a contingent of up to 250 American soldiers does not imply involvement in the conflict, emphasizing that parliamentary approval is necessary. Bulgaria has previously hosted refueling aircraft of the American air forces, and their deployment has been extended until the end of June.
