Iran has said it strongly opposes the deployment of foreign forces, especially US forces, near its border with Armenia in the context of the construction of the "Trump corridor". The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that their presence would complicate the geopolitical situation. The corridor, agreed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, would avoid passing through Iran and would be operated with American capital, which worries Tehran about its influence in the region. The Iranian president will visit Armenia to discuss these concerns.
