Roozbeh Vadi was hanged after he was found guilty of spying for Israel, accused of passing on information about a nuclear scientist killed during a recent conflict. The execution was confirmed by Iranian judicial portal Mizan, which said Vadi was recruited online by Mossad. This year, Iran has stepped up executions for espionage, with at least eight death sentences. Israel's military campaign has led to the deaths of numerous Iranian scientists and commanders.
