Yass Naubelle, an influencer and entrepreneur in the cosmetics field, was stopped by Moroccan authorities at Marrakech Menara Airport on June 13, shortly before departure. The woman, in her 30s, came to the attention of the authorities after she posted a controversial video in which she expressed her dissatisfaction with the traffic in Morocco, describing it as chaotic and dangerous.

In the video, which was later deleted, Naubelle compared the situation in Morocco to that in Algeria, stating that it is less severe in Algeria. She also accused traffic police of stopping women without reason to obtain bribes.

Moroccan authorities deemed her statements defamatory and offensive, which is why she was placed in custody to be questioned. The case sparked intense online discussions about freedom of expression abroad and its limits.
