The ICC accuses Taliban leaders of crimes against humanity, particularly targeting girls and women in Afghanistan by restricting fundamental rights. The warrants come amid repressive measures imposed by the Taliban, including a ban on education for girls after sixth grade and a requirement that women cover their bodies completely. Although the ICC has no police force, the warrants do not allow travel to member states without risk of detention.
