Hungary considers that Ukraine is a victim of Russian aggression, but does not intend to supply it with weapons.

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Peter Magyar, reaffirmed on Wednesday in Ankara that his country will not send weapons or troops to Ukraine, although he acknowledges that it is the victim of a brutal aggression by Russia.

During the NATO summit, Magyar emphasized that Hungary continues to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, but will not intervene militarily. He had a discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and agreed on a future bilateral meeting.

Magyar, who took office as Prime Minister in May after his party, Tisza, won the elections, promised that Hungary will restore its position as a reliable ally in NATO, committing to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP by 2035.
