Hungary and Slovakia have decided to build a pipeline that will connect the oil refineries in Bratislava and Szazhalombatta, in order to reduce the risks of blackmail from Ukraine, according to Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto. The agreement was signed in Brussels, and the pipeline, with a length of 127 kilometers, will have the capacity to transport 1.5 million tons of petroleum products, including diesel and gasoline.

Szijjarto emphasized that this project will add value to Hungary's energy supply and will provide additional protection against geopolitical instability and EU policies. Connecting the refineries will help both countries to be less vulnerable to external pressures, especially from Ukraine, supported by Berlin and Brussels. The pipeline is expected to be completed in the first half of next year.
