Peter Szijjarto, the Hungarian Foreign Minister, accused Ukraine of interfering "directly and shamelessly" in the parliamentary elections in Hungary. He stated that if the government led by Viktor Orban remains in power, Ukraine will not be able to become a member of the European Union and will not be able to involve Hungary in the conflict in the region.

Szijjarto claimed that Ukraine has begun gross interference maneuvers, exceeding diplomatic limits, and warned that if the Tisza party, supported by Brussels, wins the elections, Ukraine would receive a green light for integration into the EU. He emphasized that the elections are a choice between Hungary's sovereignty and Ukrainian influence, warning that a victory for the Ukrainians could lead to the loss of sovereignty and Hungary's involvement in war.
