A Hungarian fugitive, 37 years old, was arrested in Tenerife, Spain, on May 7, after his profile was published on the EU Most Wanted platform. The man had been sentenced to eight years in prison by the Metropolitan Court of Budapest for serious sexual offenses against a minor and was wanted by Hungarian authorities.

The arrest took place just three days after the information about him was published, and an anonymous tip received through the site indicated the location where he was hiding.

The EU Most Wanted platform, supported by Europol and ENFAST, facilitates the location of fugitive criminals involved in serious cross-border crime. Europol emphasizes the importance of collaboration between law enforcement authorities and public involvement in identifying criminals, encouraging citizens to consult the profiles available on the site.
