In recent days, 21 children in Gaza have died from severe malnutrition, according to hospital directors. The UN and more than 100 NGOs, including MSF and Amnesty International, warn of 'mass starvation' and call for an urgent humanitarian ceasefire. The situation is worsening after 21 months of conflict and aid blockades persist. UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres condemned the situation, stressing that malnutrition is exploding in Gaza. US envoy Steve Witkoff seeks solutions for a new ceasefire and a humanitarian corridor.
