The Israeli army reported on Friday that Hezbollah launched a rocket towards Israel, triggering air raid sirens in various areas, including Tel Aviv. The rocket was intercepted, according to the Times of Israel publication.
Hezbollah claimed that the attack targeted military infrastructure in the city of Haifa, without clarifying whether it referred to the same rocket that was intercepted. In response, the Israeli army struck approximately 10 Hezbollah launchers that fired rockets towards northern Israel. These attacks come after intense Israeli bombings of Lebanon, which have resulted in the deaths of over 300 people, and ahead of discussions between Iran and the USA in Pakistan.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he has instructed to begin peace talks with Lebanon, including the disarmament of Hezbollah. Israeli attacks have led to the deaths of approximately 1,900 people and the displacement of over 1 million people, according to Lebanese authorities, with at least 400 Hezbollah fighters killed.
