Hamas has hinted that it is willing to discuss a ceasefire with Israel, but stresses that any proposal must guarantee an end to the war in Gaza. A Hamas official said they were prepared to accept initiatives leading to a complete cessation of the conflict. A Hamas delegation is also expected to meet with mediators from Egypt and Qatar to discuss the US-backed ceasefire proposal, which calls for a 60-day period for negotiations.
