Hamas announced that the ongoing negotiations in Qatar for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip are "serious and positive".

The talks are taking place under the auspices of Qatar and Egypt, and Hamas has said a ceasefire and exchange of detainees would be possible. The Israeli delegation has arrived in Doha for the mediators' meeting, but there is no indication that the director of Mossad is taking part in the talks.
