The government has decided to ban the use of smartphones in schools for first and second cycle pupils, based on a study showing that the ban has led to a decrease in bullying and indiscipline. The measure applies to both public and private schools. The study also found an increase in socializing and physical activity among students. School principals called for a gradual implementation of the rules, given the difficulties in monitoring them.
