Greece has issued a warning to its maritime transport fleet, calling for a review of security measures following drone attacks targeting two oil tankers operated by Greek companies. The attacks occurred while the vessels were heading to Russian ports from the Black Sea, including one chartered by Chevron. The maritime transport ministry in Athens has recommended that security managers and captains conduct a threat assessment for commercial vessels in the area.

War insurance costs for ships navigating in the Black Sea have risen significantly, reflecting the deteriorating risk environment. One of the attacked tankers, Matilda, has intensified security measures, and the Ministry has reminded of the need for additional protective measures in Russian ports, considering the increased risks.
