The President of Northern Macedonia used the name 'Macedonia' during her inauguration in violation of a UN-brokered agreement between Athens and Skopje. Greece said the use of the name by its neighbor implied territorial claims over a Greek province also called Macedonia. Similar warnings came from the EU.
