Greece's Economy Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis has announced measures making cash withdrawals from ATMs free of charge, regardless of bank, to curb excessive fees. Fees for bank transfers will be capped and withdrawals from foreign ATMs will have a maximum fee of €1.5. The rules come in response to criticism of unjustified charges imposed by banks after some started debiting customers twice. The new measures will take effect in August.
