A GPS jamming device, which disrupts navigation signals in the area of the Bulgarian capital, has been identified and neutralized by Bulgarian authorities.
The equipment was discovered in a complex in the Dragalevtsi neighborhood, following an operation carried out by the State Agency for National Security (SANS), the Communications Regulation Commission, and the Ministry of Interior. The device affected the functioning of navigation systems of aircraft flying over Sofia, including Sofia Airport and the television towers in the area.
The authorities did not provide information about the owners of the complex or who installed the equipment. An investigation is underway to determine the origin of the device and the reasons for its use in the capital.
