Giorgio Armani has been fined €3.5 million for issuing misleading statements on ethics and social responsibility that contradict working conditions at its suppliers. The authority found that bag production had been outsourced and subcontractors employed workers under illegal conditions. The brand challenged the decision, saying it acted transparently. This is not the first investigation, with other luxury brands being investigated for similar practices.
