Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy, vehemently criticized the protests that took place in Milan during the Winter Olympic Games. In a Facebook post, Meloni called the protesters "enemies of Italy and Italians," accusing them of inciting riots that were broadcast on international channels, including Fox News. On Saturday evening, a protest march gathered over 3,000 participants, who threw Molotov cocktails at security forces, and the police responded with batons, water cannons, and tear gas, arresting at least several people. Meloni also mentioned damage to the railway, suggesting that these could be acts of sabotage. She emphasized that thousands of Italians are working hard to ensure the success of the Olympic Games, and the protests are against their efforts.
