German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the European Union has reached its limits on sanctions against Russia and called on the United States to step up pressure on Moscow to facilitate peace talks with Ukraine. Merz emphasized that the process of establishing the position in this context was not over and expressed hope that Washington would take further steps.
