In his Christmas message, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz reaffirmed his government's commitment to ensuring peace and security in Europe. He emphasized the importance of these values for the prosperity of the entire continent, stating that it is up to Germany and Europe to fulfill this mission.


Merz, a strong supporter of Ukraine, mentioned that the Berlin government will work patiently and persistently to promote Germany's interests. He also acknowledged the difficulties encountered in the negotiation process and emphasized the need to continue deciding what is best for the country, highlighting that reaching a compromise has not always been easy.
