Brazilian police have arrested Gilson Machado, a former tourism minister under the Bolsonaro regime, on suspicion of trying to help Lt. Col. Mauro Cid flee the country. Bolsonaro is accused of running a criminal organization that conspired to stay in power after the 2022 elections. Machado denies the charges, saying he only applied for a passport for his father. The verdict in Bolsonaro's case is expected within weeks.
