Five people were stabbed on Sunday evening at Penn Station in New York, a day before the NBA finals game and just a few days away from the 2026 World Cup. Firefighters confirmed that the alleged attacker has been captured.

The incident's toll shows one seriously injured, two moderately injured, and two lightly injured, all of whom were transported to the hospital for medical care. NYC Emergency Management has urged the public to avoid the area, considering the crowding in the station that receives approximately 600,000 passengers a day.

Penn Station is located near Madison Square Garden, where Donald Trump is expected to attend the game between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs. The station will also serve MetLife Stadium in New Jersey during the World Cup, which will host 8 matches, including the final.
