A fire broke out at JAXA's Tanegashima space center in Tanegashima, Japan, during a test of an Epsilon S rocket. No casualties were reported.

The fire occurred during a burn test, which was attended by journalists about 600 meters away. According to reports, before the explosion, flames erupted from the rocket engine which had been placed on a horizontal platform.
