Finland's withdrawal from the anti-personnel landmines treaty will take place six months after notification, in January 2026. It joins other countries such as Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland, which are reconsidering their commitments due to fears over Russia's military threat. Lithuania and Finland are also planning to start producing anti-personnel mines for their own use and to support Ukraine.
