The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced that the proposed sale will strengthen Finland's ability to respond to current and future threats, facilitating interoperability with U.S. forces and other allied nations. This transaction will also support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States. The U.S. Congress is set to formally validate the transaction. This comes as a reaction to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, during which Finland decided to abandon military non-alignment and joined NATO in 2023.
