A recent FBI document has reopened the discussion about Donald Trump's connections to Jeffrey Epstein, after it emerged that Trump allegedly stated in 2006 that "everyone knew" about Epstein's behavior. In an interview, Trump acknowledged that he contacted the police in Palm Beach to express his pleasure that Epstein was stopped, mentioning that people in New York were aware of his actions. Trump also described Ghislaine Maxwell as "evil" and said he was only present around Epstein once, quickly leaving that situation. The White House stated that Trump has always been honest regarding his relationship with Epstein, emphasizing that he severed ties with him before the first arrest. Pressure on the Trump administration increased after the release of documents related to Epstein, and Congressional Democrats proposed eliminating the statute of limitations for sex trafficking crimes. Jeffrey Epstein, found dead in jail in 2019, was the subject of many conspiracy theories, including some promoted by Trump.
