A 57-year-old surfer was killed by a shark on the Long Reef and Dee Why beaches in Sydney, causing the closure of several beaches.

The attack took place on Saturday, when the victim, an experienced local, was in the water with friends. After the attack, his body was found floating, and the surfboard was broken.
