The attack took place on Saturday, when the victim, an experienced local, was in the water with friends. After the attack, his body was found floating, and the surfboard was broken. The police have closed the beaches in the area for investigations, and experts will analyze the remains to identify the species of the shark. This is the first fatal attack in Sydney since 2022.
