On Thursday morning, the Pentagon went into lockdown after a faulty sensor triggered a false alarm related to a possible air quality issue.

The incident was reported by local sources and attracted specialized hazardous materials response teams, who wore full protective gear. The second and fifth floors, as well as certain hallways of the complex, were temporarily closed. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed that precautionary measures were taken to assess the situation.

After approximately three hours of testing, authorities determined that there was no problem, and operations resumed normally. Parnell emphasized that the Department of Defense follows standard safety protocols, including isolating the affected area.
