A series of explosions were reported on Tuesday in the Syrian capital, Damascus, during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron. The explosions occurred near the hotel where Macron is staying, causing panic in the area.

The Syrian authorities reacted quickly, blocking roads and implementing additional security measures to ensure the safety of the French leader. This visit is significant as Macron is the first major leader of the European Union to visit Damascus since the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad.

Further details about the explosions and their impact are expected.
