Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, together with European leaders from France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, stated that the current front line should serve as a basis for peace negotiations with Russia. They argue that fighting must cease immediately and reaffirm the principle that international borders should not be changed by force. European leaders commit to supporting Ukraine to remain in a strong position going forward, during and after any ceasefire. They also emphasize the need to intensify pressure on the Russian economy and defense industry, in the context of the upcoming meeting between American President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. The statement was signed by the leaders of Ukraine and several European states, who will meet in Brussels to discuss sustainable financial support for Ukraine.
