The plan, originally drawn up by Egypt, envisages the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip over a five-year period, without displacing Palestinians. It was initially rejected by US President Donald Trump, but later received support from US officials. Foreign ministers of Muslim countries also met to discuss the situation in Gaza.
