The European Commission has launched a preliminary investigation into the Temu platform, which failed to properly assess the risks of spreading illegal products. Analysis showed that users may encounter non-compliant products such as toys and electronics. The Commission will continue investigations in 2024, working with national authorities and others. The DSA regulation requires platforms to implement consumer protection measures, and vice-president Henna Virkkunen stressed the importance of online safety in the EU.
