The European Commission has said that US tariffs are not acceptable and that it will respond if a satisfactory agreement is not reached. Trade commissioner Maros Sefcovic emphasized that the EU is ready to work for mutually beneficial solutions, but will take alternative measures if negotiations fail. In addition, the EU will continue to diversify its trade relations with other countries and is monitoring the impact of US tariffs on global trade.
