In a joint statement, the leaders of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland and the President of the European Commission said that peace in Ukraine must include the participation of Kiev and that negotiations are only possible in the context of a ceasefire. They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining international borders and stressed that the current line of contact should be the basis for talks. Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky began talks with European leaders in the context of a meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
