The EU is preparing to expand its trade commitments with countries such as Japan and Canada in the wake of Donald Trump's threats of 30% tariffs. EU Competition Commissioner Teresa Ribera emphasized the importance of agreements with India and other Asia-Pacific countries. In addition, the EU has suspended retaliatory measures against the US until August 1, but is preparing €21 billion in tariffs in response, while economists warn that the tariffs could negatively affect the eurozone economy.
