EU member states have passed legislation to regulate artificial intelligence, considered unprecedented in the world.

The legislation was approved unanimously, although some member states, such as Germany and France, expressed concerns. The legislation will impose rules for generative artificial intelligence, as well as for systems considered 'high risk'. It will also pay particular attention to protecting start-up companies specializing in artificial intelligence.
