French President Emmanuel Macron will make a state visit to China from December 3 to 5, according to the announcement from the Élysée Palace.

This will include meetings with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, two and a half years after Macron's last visit in April 2023. The visit aims to maintain a constant dialogue between the two countries, addressing issues of economic and trade cooperation, in the context of France's G7 presidency in 2026. Global challenges will also be discussed. An interesting note of the visit is the repatriation of the giant pandas Huan Huan and Yuan Zi, which were loaned to France, and the Chinese Embassy has promised new giant pandas for the future.
