Emmanuel Grégoire has been elected mayor of Paris, ensuring that the capital remains under the control of the socialists for another term. He defeated Rachida Dati, promising to continue the green transformation of the city. In the north, former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe achieved a clear victory in Le Havre, thus consolidating his position as a favorite for the presidential elections. In contrast, the far right won the mayoralty in Nice, with Eric Ciotti at the helm, but lost in Marseille and Toulon, where rival alliances blocked its advance. The President of the National Assembly, Jordan Bardella, stated that the party has achieved the largest breakthrough in its history. Additionally, Macron's camp suffered defeats in cities such as Lyon, Strasbourg, and Bordeaux, and François Bayrou lost the mayoral position in Pau. Bardella emphasized that these successes represent a beginning for the party's future plans.
