Elon Musk has proposed the idea of acquiring the low-cost airline Ryanair, thus intensifying the dispute with the company's CEO, Michael O'Leary. The conflict began after O'Leary rejected the proposal to install Starlink technology on Ryanair planes, arguing that it would increase fuel costs. Musk considered this statement to be erroneous, which led to a exchange of insults between the two.

In a post on his platform X, Musk asked whether he should buy Ryanair, and a poll showed that the majority of respondents agreed. O'Leary continued to criticize Musk, stating that he has no knowledge of aviation. Although Musk has made similar acquisitions in the past, European regulations require that the majority of a airline's shares be owned by EU citizens.
