Édouard Philippe, former Prime Minister of France, announced on Sunday, in Reims, the launch of his campaign for the presidential elections, positioning himself as the main candidate against the far right, represented by Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella. Philippe promised a "massively optimistic" vision for France and criticized both the far right and the far left for their populism. At the rally, he presented his electoral team and the priorities of his party, Horizons, emphasizing the need to unite political forces. Philippe announced a first campaign rally in Paris on July 5 and planned 1,000 campaign meetings across the country. In his speech, he addressed sensitive issues for the conservative electorate, such as tax cuts and fighting crime. Although he is considered a strong centrist candidate, recent polls suggest increased competition from other candidates. Philippe promised that he would provide concrete proposals in the coming months, while also proposing to unify the right around his candidacy.
