A 7 magnitude earthquake occurred on Monday in the Vanuatu archipelago, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The earthquake struck at a depth of 130 kilometers, and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) confirmed that there is no risk of a tsunami resulting from it.
Vanuatu, an archipelago with approximately 330,000 inhabitants, is located on the 'Ring of Fire' of the Pacific, an area known for intense seismic activity, which makes earthquakes frequent in this region. Local authorities are monitoring the situation, but so far no significant damage or casualties have been reported.
