Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp resigned on Friday, explaining that he could not take significant action against Israel following the government talks. The Netherlands was among 21 countries that recently condemned an Israeli settlement project in the West Bank. Meanwhile, the UN has declared a state of famine in the Gaza Strip, where some 500,000 people are in a dire humanitarian situation due to the Israeli offensive.
