Three oil tankers were attacked by drones off the northern coast of the Black Sea in Turkey, according to a report on Thursday by the Reuters agency, based on information from the shipping company Tribeca.
The incident occurred while the vessels were in transit, one of them, James II, being attacked 80 km from Turkeli Island. The other two tankers, Altura and Velora, were hit during the transfer of cargo between ships. The Turkish Coast Guard responded quickly, sending vessels to the scene and evacuating the crews, ensuring that no casualties were reported.
The Turkish Ministry of Transport declined to comment on the situation, according to Reuters. This incident highlights the increased risks in the maritime area, considering the geopolitical tensions in the region.
