Peter Magyar, a Hungarian politician, announced the submission of a draft amendment to the Constitution in the Parliament of Hungary, which includes 12 significant changes to the Fundamental Law.

Among the main proposals are limiting the terms of parliamentarians to 12 years, equivalent to three terms, and ending the term of the current president of the Republic. The draft provides for strengthening the powers of the Constitutional Court, establishing an age limit of 70 years for judges, and enhancing the independence of the judicial system, allowing for the removal of the presidents of the Supreme Court and the National Office of the Judiciary at the initiative of judges.

Other amendments include the establishment of a National Office for the Recovery and Protection of Heritage, measures for the protection of public funds, the elimination of the veto power of the Budget Council, reducing the number of organic laws, and the dissolution of the Parliamentary Guard. These initiatives are part of the reforms promoted by Prime Minister Magyar, which also included limiting the prime minister's term to eight years and a comprehensive anti-corruption program.
