Steve Witkoff, President Trump's envoy, and Abbas Araqchi, the Iranian foreign minister, held significant telephone talks in the wake of Israeli air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran has said it will not resume negotiations with the US on its nuclear program until Israel stops the bombing. At the same time, Trump endorsed plans for possible US military involvement in the Israeli strikes, specifically targeting Iran's nuclear facilities. Israel continues the bombings, claiming the goal is to neutralize Iran's nuclear program.
