On Monday, a powerful tornado swept through the northern neighborhoods of Paris, especially the town of Ermont, located about 20 km northeast of the capital. The tornado caused significant damage, overturning three construction cranes and tearing off the roofs of buildings. Authorities reported that a 23-year-old construction worker was killed on site, and another 10 people were injured, four of whom are in critical condition.
The Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nunez, described the storm as having "sudden and rare intensity" and extended condolences to the victim's family. Images from social media captured the moment when the cranes fell, one of them crashing onto a clinic without causing casualties. Dozens of rescuers responded at the scene to ensure the safety of affected residents.
