The torrential rains have severely affected the states of Veracruz, Hidalgo, and Puebla, turning streets into rivers and causing landslides. Approximately 10,000 soldiers have been mobilized for rescue and aid delivery. The death toll has risen rapidly, and President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that early warnings were difficult in this case. Most of the missing persons are in Hidalgo.
